C.O.W. Match Play Update
Thursday 16 June 2022
From the Editor
The sun is out, carts are on and TGC golf is finally back in business.
A field of 107 played in the Queen’s Birthday Ambrose on Monday that was won by Trevor & Karen Tynan, Elwyn & Gai Taylor with a score of 55.25. On Tuesday Des Thompson and Julie Bodycote were the short course winners while Cathy Crombie took out the first lady vets 18 hole comp in quite a while. With the sun still streaming down on Wednesday Terry Bodycote and Peter Quinlivan won the 4BBB with a modest score of 41 (it must still be tough out there.) The ladies are back out there today and most of you know that tomorrow TCC are running a major memorial golf day with a big field and are appreciative of members loaning their carts.
In case you missed it the ladies’ pennant season was abandoned denying the undefeated Tallwoods ladies a chance to win the pennant. Meanwhile the Super Seniors pennant draw is out. Tallwoods is in Division 9 with 6 other teams and is hosting for the last round on September 9.
John Pearson is still assistant C.O.W. co-ordinator and Captain Ian has an update on how to progress these important match play events.

For Cock and Chick of the Walk bookings, can players please book your rounds directly with the Pro Shop, rather than including your name remotely on a booking sheet for an existing competition. If you do the latter it can lead to a miscalculation of match fees owing on that day and also can cause confusion if other members put their names down with you on the basis that you are playing in the competition. Thanks in advance for this.
Also, just confirming that the closing date for the first round is now the 27th June. If the weather holds and carts are on, this date will not change. Please book your matches as soon as you can, and ensure that your entry fee is transferred before you start. We have a few members who have already played but have yet to post theirs.
The $10 fee is payable to:
